Make Your Memories
End of Senior Year: Oh, the Memories!
Make Sure You Capture the Memory-Making Moments, Even When Your Senior Begs You Not Too
There are two types of high school seniors: (1) those that cannot wait for high school to end, and (2) those that hope it would last forever. As a parent, you are likely watching your senior in either scenario and thinking, “If they only knew.”
If your senior only knew how special this time in their life is. However, at the same time, if they only knew of the excitement that lies ahead. The truth is high school is a small blip on the radar of life. And whether your child wants it to end today or wants it to go on forever, they have a world of new experiences, loves, and life ahead of them. In the blink of an eye, not only is high school over, but the memories have faded like an old photo.
Take Every Opportunity to Make a Memory
During a pandemic, making memories may be hard. They will not look like the memories many of us had when we finished high school. However, that doesn’t mean the opportunities to make memories do not exist.
Help your senior make memories along the way. Schedule mini photo sessions for different events or opportunities. In the winter, use a session to capture your senior enjoying winter sports or spending time with a few of their favorite friends.
In the spring, make sure your senior at least dresses for prom. Schedule a photo session of your senior and their friends going to prom, even if prom is in your Westampton home’s basement or a fun weekend at the Jersey Shore!
Do not forget all of the amazing events leading up to graduation. Even if you have to create the events on your own, your senior should have those moments to look back on in photos when they are getting ready to embark on their first job after college or to share with their children in the future.
Schedule Photo Sessions to Capture Each Moment
The senior year of high school goes really fast. Before you know it, your child will be at orientation for college or waiving so long to head out on their next adventure. Do not wait until the last minute to schedule those photo sessions for those senior moments.
It is the middle of February. If you have not been taking photos yet, schedule your spring photo sessions soon. In the spring, your senior will enjoy class trips, proms, athletic ceremonies, and more. All of these amazing moments lead to the big event: graduation. While your cell-phone camera can capture those candid moments, a photo session can capture a series of moments and emotions to last a lifetime.
For those of you with Juniors, Class of 2020, now is the time to schedule those senior photo sessions for next year!
