Anyone can take a picture and call it a headshot. However, a real corporate headshot shows you in the best light and makes you (and your business) look amazing. Before you schedule your corporate headshot sessions, take a look at these five tips to help ensure you get the most out of your corporate headshot session.

1.    Look Professional

Maybe this tip seems obvious. However, many people do not really understand what this means. People think they can show up in a t-shirt and ripped jeans like it is a Hollywood photoshoot and appear professional.

The reality is this session is not a Hollywood photoshoot. This photo is your corporate headshot. Therefore, you need to leave the t-shirt at home. Instead, make sure you wear professional attire for your business, whether it is a full suit or business casual attire. Make sure your hair is in place, you are clean-shaven, and your face looks presentable. A little bit of makeup (no matter if you are male or female) may help hide any blemishes while helping to highlight your best features.

2.    Find Your Style

A corporate headshot can be from the shoulders up of a full-body photo. It can be an action photo or a profile shoot. Take a few different photos providing viewpoints from each of these options. Then find the style that works best for you and your brand. Once you find the style that works for you, stick with it. Use that style for all headshots for your business.

3.    Test Your Look

You have the right to test your look before your photo session. Try a few different outfits, hairstyles, and poses. Have a friend or family member take some photos of you with each look you want to try. Then choose the look that shows your best side.
