for your Corporate Headshot
How to Prepare for Your Corporate Headshots
You Only Get One Shot to Make a First Impression
People often consider corporate headshots a normal part of business. They show up to their appointment, take a photo, and go about their day. Eventually, the headshot gets used on the website and other marketing propaganda.
However, you only get one chance to make that first impression. Your corporate headshot may be that chance. Using a phone to take a photo against a white wall will look more like mug shot than a corporate headshot. Therefore, the first step to preparing for your corporate headshot is to hire a qualified and experienced professional photographer.
Your professional photographer can come to your office or meet you around the beautiful landscape in South Jersey, such as parts of Westampton, Shamong, Medford, Medford Lakes, and other areas.
Once you choose your corporate photographer, you must take the time to prepare for your headshot. Follow these steps to take a quality corporate headshot to give you the best first impression possible.
- Get Plenty of Rest
Makeup can work wonders. It can remove bags under your eyes, and lighten your complexion. However, it cannot fix everything. When you are not well-rested, it shows int your eyes. You lose the twinkle that captures people. Therefore, you must get plenty of sleep the week before your photo shoot to maintain the sparkle in your eyes, necessary for exceptional photos.
- Drink Plenty of Water
Like sleep, staying hydrated is key to a great photo. Every part of your face, from your smile to your eyes, looks better when well-hydrated. Drink plenty of water, especially the 3 days before your photo shoot. You will look refreshed and it will shine through.
- Find the Right Outfit
Clothes makes the person. And clothes make the headshot. Your headshot is only from the shoulders up. However, it may be waist up, depending on the pose. Either way, the right outfit can make your headshot pop.
Make sure the color of your shirt accentuates your features. Do not chose a color that makes you look drab or washed out.
The cut of the neckline matters as well. Turtlenecks may work if you have an exceptionally long neck. However, it is often better to wear a rounded color or a button-down shirt. Try a few looks and chose the one that looks best. Seek another’s opinion whenever available.
- Look Professional
You should never look like you are going out to a club or a concert. Your hair and makeup should look professional. Try a few different styles and looks before your photo shoot. Should you wear your hair up, in curls, or down. What shades of eye shadow and lipstick work well with your style?
As a man, get your hair cut before your photo. Shave appropriately. You may have a bear d or goatee. However, make sure it is well-kept and you look clean shaven.
The goal is to let your photo speak for you and draw people to learn more about you and your company.
